Workshop
Manufacturing philosophies – to work efficiently always, using the most practical applications to produce elegant, simple and enduring design.
Trade Services
Rule of thumb – All areas of manufacture are handled in house. I am responsible for every aspect of the finished product. Trade clients are responsible for the design and your own after sales care. I am responsible for the finished product, and I will advise you of any complications that are out of my control such as issues with any components that you provide. I can offer exhibition standards and higher than average commercial standards because my jewels are produced in-house. Finishing and setting is offered on a per item basis.
What are trade services?
Trade clients are members of the jewellery trade who buy, sell and manufacture jewellery. Being considered 'part of the trade' usually suggests you already commission work to be carried out by bench workers, or are a bench worker yourself. You are expected to know the way the trade operates and be able to create a professional business relationship.
Invoicing (trade)
Invoices are raised either monthly or when a certain figure is reached.
It is important when I am providing the materials (bullion/diamonds etc) that you pay up front instalments
Job sheets are created and costs are calculated as the work progresses unless we establish a p/item cost.

Platinum work
Wrought work, fusing, finishing, assembly, burnishing, soldering, planning and creation of pre-polished parts for assembly
|
For the past 10 years, I have concentrated on platinum work and have developed specialised skills which are unique to platinum smithing
|
Finishing
burnishing, planishing, milgrain, filing, emery, polishing, cleaning, pre-polishing, brushed and textured finishes
|
I prefer to pre-polish components. If I have done my job properly the item is almost polished before it is finished.
After sales polishing is free on purchases (see limitations) |
Repairs
re-tipping, re-clawing, re-sizing, re-engraving, full renovations, parts replacement, soldering, plating, shaping, improving
|
I have worked exclusively as a jewellery repairer in the past and my job has always involved some amount of repair work
However I do not offer general jewellery repair services to retail customers. |
Wax work
Carving, moulding, replication, CAD CAM
|
Almost any design can be rendered in wax and cast in a precious metal. Usually a wax is made and cast in silver to produce a pro forma which can be worked on to make a master pattern.
